Surgery
Surgery at Mount Zion is a multifaceted unit that offers opportunities to hone nursing and leadership skills in coordination with internationally renowned physicians.
This unit cares for a variety of oncology and surgical patients including those with orthopedic, thyroid, breast and liver diseases.
In addition, there are multiple opportunities to coordinate innovative treatment modalities for the oncology patient population, including acupuncture and massage.
This unit offers the option to work in a cutting edge environment with a community hospital feel.
Surgical Oncology
Surgical oncology at Mount Zion is a 30-bed unit.
This unit is adjacent to the nationally recognized UCSF Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Many exciting opportunities exist on this growing unit where a dynamic, interdisciplinary, supportive and healing approach is the focus.
Surgical specialties include gynecology, urology, head and neck, colorectal and liver.
Chemotherapy certification is available and is encouraged for the staff.
Complex wound care, ostomy care and tracheotomy care make teaching a priority for both the patients and those who will care for them after discharge.
