Welcome to 2007 Nursing Annual Review

The Department of Nursing Annual Review Program for RNs consists of this on-line course and skills demonstration classes specific to each patient care area.

Information about the skills demonstration classes for your patient care area is posted on your unit and may be found on-line at the Department of Nursing Education Website.

It is the responsibility of the Medical Center and the Department of Nursing to provide a safe work environment and adequate information and safety training to its employees. This course reviews key information contained in “The Medical Center Safety Management Program” as well as information on Infection Control, Risk Management, and Employee Health Services employees must be knowledgeable of to promote the safe environment of care within the medical center critical to our mission, vision and values.

The information provided in this course is not all inclusive and it does not relieve the employee of responsibility for all hospital safety policies and procedures. All employees are expected to be knowledgeable about and compliant with the policies and procedures contained within the Medical Center Environment of Care manual and Infection control manual.

Each topic in this course is referenced to the Medical Center and/or Department of Nursing manual in which the complete policy or procedure resides.

Instructions

For your convienience the course has been divided into six separate modules. Complete one module and immediately complete its corresponding completion form (link on the last slide of the module). Each module takes approximately 10 to 30 minutes to complete. Once you begin a module you must complete the module (although you may leave your computer and return). If you exit a module before completing it, you will lose what you have completed and have to start at the beginning.

To start a module, simply click on one of the "Module" links below. The first page of the module will appear. From that point on simply use the blue arrows at the bottom of the page to navigate forward or backward within the module. For pages with test questions, please note that you must answer the test question correctly before you will be allowed to proceed through the remainder of the course.

The LAST page of the module will let you know that you have completed the module. This page will also display a link to a completion form. You must complete this form, in order to receive credit. Completing this form means, entering your employee ID, your first and last name, your unit, and clicking on the "Submit" button. Only then your record will be saved in the database. Printing the form prior to clicking on the "Submit" button is NOT a proof of completion.

Failure to filling out the completion form will result in your not receiving credit for the module.

Please note: Pop-up blocking software! The module and its completion form appear in a new browser window. If you have pop-up blocking software installed on your computer, the form may not appear. To get to the form, you may have to disable the pop-up blocking software.

Failure to complete mandatory annual safety training (Annual Review) by the deadline will make the employee ineligible to be scheduled for work.
