Training Programs
for new grads or nurses wanting to change specialty
An opportunity is now available to participate in an exciting training program at one of the premier teaching and research hospitals. Two or three times each year, UCSF Medical Center and UCSF Children’s Hospital host New Graduate Training Programs that are designed to provide the graduating nursing student with information and skills essential to making a smooth transition from student nurse to competent Registered Nurse. Through lectures, on-line learning, discussion, demonstration, skill laboratories, and clinical experience, the new graduate nurse is provided with opportunities to enhance clinical skills and critical thinking.
The following training programs may be available, depending on unit staffing needs:
- Adult Acute Care Training Program
- Adult Transitional Care Training Program
- Adult Critical Care Training Program
- Emergency Department Training Program
- Pediatric Acute Care Training Program
- Pediatric Critical Care Training Program
- Intensive Care Nursery Training Program
- Perinatal Training Program
- OR Training Program
Applications
To apply online go to the UCSF Job Opportunities page. Click on “Search Openings” and select in the job category dropdown “Nursing - Training Programs/Internships” and click on “Search”. All current programs will be listed. You are encouraged to apply for all programs of interest.
Shortly after submitting your application, you will be sent an e-mail that will contain an applicant questionnaire and reference forms for you to complete. To be considered for a training program, the questionnaire and reference forms must be completed and received by Human Resources on or before the application deadline set for the program.
