Why we work at UCSF?

At UCSF Medical Center, we are proud of the talented, knowledgeable and dedicated nurses who have helped build our tradition of excellence in health care. We offer competitive salaries, generous benefits and a team-oriented environment in several locations, and so much more.

Ours is a highly motivated staff of professional nurses, prepared to face the challenges inherent in working at a cutting-edge institution. They are supported in their work by a core group of Clinical Nurse Specialists, Nurse Educators, and Informatics Nurse Specialists, who bring evidence-based practice to life at the bedside. Advanced Practice Nurses (NPs) are employed by our specialty services, and they provide yet another level of nursing expertise. New graduate nurses are welcomed through our New Grad Training Programs focusing on Medical-Surgical Nursing, Critical Care (cardiac, general, and neuro), Oncology, Pediatrics, Emergency, and Periop. New grads, along with other new hires, are mentored through their orientation programs by dedicated preceptors from their home units.
