The purpose of this council is to support diversity, equity and inclusion, rooted in our Mission, Vision and PRIDE Values, in the Department of Nursing at UCSF Health. The Council has three workgroups:
- Patient Focused
- Work Environment
- Community Outreach
The council is focused on the following functions:
- Identify health disparities and support health equity
- Encourage life-long learning and critical self-reflection
- Create an environment that values and celebrates diversity
- Align with the UCSF Office of Diversity and Outreach related programs and initiatives
- Build relationships throughout the Department of Nursing, UCSF Health and the Community
