In January of this year, an external review of the nursing education department was conducted to assess strengths, challenges, opportunities, and innovation. This assessment led to a decision to restructure the entire department, including the name, in order to advance excellence in clinical practice, patient outcomes, work environment, regulatory standards, and innovation.
New Institute for Nursing Excellence and Nursing Performance Improvement Updates
In addition, Sheila Antrum, Executive Director of Patient Care Services, also felt compelled to expand the quality and performance improvement activities beyond this department, which means that moving forward, Respiratory Therapy, Pharmacy, Perioperative Services, Emergency Department, Social Work, Case Management, and Home Health must develop and report rigorous outcomes to demonstrate their effectiveness and contributions.
